Leila Mekacher on the Executive Council of the United Nations Inter-Pacific Association (UNIPA)

Leila Mekacher has been appointed as a member of the Executive Council of the United Nations Inter-Pacific Association (UNIPA) for the 2025–2027 term, representing Germany. UNIPA is committed to promoting international dialogue, peace, humanitarian cooperation, and sustainable development across different regions. Her appointment to this body comes with both responsibility and scope to help shape its work, reflecting the trust placed in her in this international context.

In her role on the Executive Council, Leila Mekacher aims to help foster constructive dialogue between regions and cultures, support peacebuilding and humanitarian initiatives that protect human dignity and human rights, and strengthen education, youth engagement, and global citizenship. Another key focus is collaboration on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and building resilient, future-ready societies.
